Olympic
Art
We
just had to include the terrific art our Year 5 kids did
on Thursday, 20 July, when an organisation called
"Raw Art" came to the school for a special art
lesson whose theme was "The Olympics".
| The
children were first shown how to draw a face
with the correct dimensions and position of
the nose, mouth etc. |

| Then
they were put in groups around large pieces of
cardboard. |

The
cardboard was then painted brightly. |
Each
group had to portray an athlete and their sport
and use what they learnt about drawing faces in
their pictures.
This
boxer looked very fierce, black eye and all. The
children used crayons and rubbed them in to
achieve a great skin tone.

This
runner had a long road ahead.

This
beach
volley ball player looks very much like another
well known sportsman. Can you guess who?

Another
colourful character!!

Our
runner now has some hair and ears and looks a bit
more human!! The colour was built up, layer on
layer of crayon on top of a chalk base, to give
the great finish.

Next
the background was painted to make it more
colourful.

Here's
the famous look-a-like, nearly all finished.

After
the background was painted, the title was painted
on the bottom - Olympics 2000!!
